JOIN THE CUDDLE STUDY

The CUDDLE study aims to identify safe dosing levels of common medications for both
mom and baby by tracking the transfer of the medication through human milk. You may
qualify for the study if you are a San Diego County parent who is nursing a baby age 6
months or younger and you are already taking any of the following medications:

  • amoxicillin
  • buprenorphine
  • cyclobenzaprine
  • duloxetine
  • hydrocodone
  • levetiracetam
  • paroxetine
  • trazodone
  • venlafaxine

Among other things, participating moms will be asked to provide a milk sample. They will
also be asked if they would be willing to provide both a maternal blood sample and an
infant blood sample, but the blood samples are not required for participation. Collection of
the study samples will take place at our study office in the 92123 zip code. See Additional
Details below for information on other study activities.
